'The World in a London Square' - celebrating the College's 80th year

In 2011 Goodenough College will celebrate its 80th anniversary. To mark this occasion a book has been commissioned from leading publisher Third Millennium. Much more than a history, The World in a London Square will be a richly illustrated and beautifully produced panorama of life at the College and its people over many generations - and you can help!

We are asking alumni of every generation to send in their memories, anecdotes, photographs and memorabilia for inclusion in the book. It is your contributions that will make the book come alive and turn it into a living history, you can write on anything you like, but a few themes may help you organise your thoughts:

  • Living in London
  • Social events
  • Strange or funny incidents and memorable conversations
  • Inspiring people
  • Relations between staff and members
  • Goodenough during the war
  • Music, drama and sports activities
  • Academic connections

Alumni can subscribe to the book through the Third Millennium microsite at the discounted price of £35 (plus p&p, RRP £45).  Subscribers also have the opportunity to have their names (or nominees) listed in the book as an ensuring record of their link with the College.

All alumni for whom we have a current contact address have been sent a brochure informing them about this exciting project. If you have not received this please email katharine@goodenough.ac.uk to confirm your details. A PDF of the brochure and accompanying cover letter from Sir Anthony Goodenough may be viewed below.
