Name:
Rejieli Paulo

Country of Origin:
Australia

Studying:
I am now studying at the Cardiff International Academy of Voice with Dennis O’Neill.

How you came to London?
I auditioned for the National Opera Studio in London and knew that if I were to be offered a place I would make the big move and come over here.

Why you chose to live in Goodenough College?
I was attracted to the ready-made community. Some friends who had stayed at the college also recommended it as being a great way to settle into a new country and begin to build a new home.

What you think is special about Goodenough College?
The diversity! With around 600 members from around the world, I feel privileged to be able to learn about their homes, cultures and professions. We are encouraged to organise college events to celebrate all types of holidays or just to demonstrate the beauty of our homelands. I have already met people at Goodenough who I know will be friends for life.

Your typical week at Goodenough?
I am a very busy person.  I might catch up with friends in Freddies, study in one of the practice rooms, help to organise a concert, plan to go on a sailing trip, work in the Willy G bar or go ballroom dancing.

What Goodenough means to you?
Goodenough is a once in a lifetime opportunity, not to be taken lightly or for granted! I will never be the same again, I thought I was moving to London to improve my skills and try a new lifestyle but I have developed emotionally, intellectually and spiritually due to the nurturing environment Goodenough provides. Even the staff feel like family and the support that we provide one another is priceless, my home away from home.
